Overview
The Gale ↔ Recharge integration allows merchants to seamlessly connect their Recharge subscription store to Gale in order to offer HSA/FSA reimbursements for subscription orders.Once connected, Gale automatically syncs subscription orders and enables customers to submit reimbursement requests.
Prerequisites
Before connecting Recharge, ensure:- You have a Gale Merchant Dashboard account
- You are logged into the correct Recharge store in your browser
- You have the required admin permissions in Recharge to approve app integrations
Connect Recharge to Gale (OAuth Flow)
Follow the steps below to connect your Recharge store:1. Log in to Gale Merchant Dashboard
- Visit: Gale Merchant Dashboard
- Log in using your merchant credentials
If you don’t have access yet, please contact the Gale team to receive your invitation link.
2. Navigate to Integrations
- In the left sidebar, go to Integrations
- Locate the Recharge integration tile
- Click Connect
3. Approve Recharge OAuth
After clicking Connect, you will be redirected to Recharge to grant access.- Review the permissions requested by Gale
- Click Authorize & Install
- Once authorized, you’ll be redirected back to Gale
OAuth Scopes Requested & Why We Need Them
When connecting Recharge, Gale requests the minimum scopes required to enable HSA/FSA reimbursement support.| Scope | Why We Need It |

read_subscriptions | To identify subscription products, billing cycles, and link reimbursements to recurring orders. |
read_customers | To match reimbursement submissions with the correct customer profile. |
write_webhooks | To automatically register the necessary webhooks for syncing orders and subscriptions in real-time. |
store_info | To get details about your store(e.g store Domain) etc. |
Gale does not request write access to orders or subscriptions — we do not modify merchant or customer data in Recharge.
Gale supports both checkout models offered by Recharge: Recharge Checkout on Shopify (RCS) and Shopify Checkout Integration (SCI). No matter which checkout flow your store uses, Gale can connect with your Recharge setup to enable HSA/FSA reimbursement for subscription orders.
What Happens After Connection?
Once the integration is completed:- Your Recharge access token is securely stored
- Gale automatically sets up system webhooks for order & subscription sync
- Your store becomes eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement flows
