This guide will walk you through installing and configuring Gale HSA/FSA Payments on your BigCommerce store.

Prerequisites

Before starting, make sure you have:

  • BigCommerce Store Owner Access
  • Gale Payments API Key (provided during onboarding)

Installation Steps

Install the Gale Payments App

  1. Install the Gale HSA & FSA Payments app from the provided link.
  2. Approve app permissions when prompted.
  3. Once installed, you will be redirected to the app inside your BigCommerce Admin.

Enter API Key in App Settings

  1. In the app interface, go to Settings tab.
  2. Paste your Gale API Key below and click Save.

Use Page Builder Widget

  1. Go to Storefront → Page Builder.
  2. Look for the HSA & FSA Accepted widget.
  3. Drag and drop it onto any product page.
  4. Click Publish to make it live.

Sync Products

  1. Open the Gale app and click on the Products Sync tab.
  2. Click Sync Products.
  3. App will only fetch and sync products with GTIN/UPC codes.

Configure Payment Method

  1. In the Gale app, click Configure Payment Method.
  2. You’ll be redirected to Offline Payment Methods in BigCommerce.
  3. Rename the “Cheque” method to Gale HSA & FSA Payment and click Save.

Test the Checkout Flow

  1. Go to your storefront and add a synced product to the cart.
  2. Proceed to checkout and select Gale HSA & FSA Payment.
  3. You will be redirected to a secure hosted Gale checkout page.
  4. Use the test cards to complete payment (Only works if Test Mode is Enabled).
  5. After payment, you’ll be redirected back to your store’s order confirmation page.

Troubleshooting

  • Widget Not Showing?
    Make sure the app is installed and the widget is added via Page Builder.
  • Sync Not Working?
    Ensure products have valid GTIN/UPC codes.
  • Payment Option Missing?
    Double-check if “Cheque” method is renamed and saved properly.
